“You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing, and dance, and write poems, and suffer, and understand, for all that is life.” —Jiddu Krishnamurti (via c0ffeecups)

Be affectionate but not clingy. Be protective but not overly protective. Have a heart but don't wear it on your sleeve. Do what your heart desires but take your brain with you.

Alright "nice guys," read up.

I just saw this post on my dash: “We will probably never understand… why women fall madly in love with douchebags.”

Guys, stop saying this. It’s annoying and by doing it you’re invalidating what the girls feel.

So I’m going to explain to you how this happens. Douchebags are easy to spot. Even before you talk to them. They’re cocky and are usually loud, moderately to extremely good looking, and have a lot of people around them. There’s a reason for that last one. Because think about when they first meet a person-especially a girl. They go out of their way to make the girl want them… know how? By making her feel special. When a guy works to get a girl, even for a short time (which let’s face it, is true), the girl is going to fall. This is where the so called “nice guys” fall short. You guys are too scared of rejection that you treat the girl like any other person. Which is fine of course, but not if you want to date her. You can’t just silently think about how much you like her and expect her to want you for no reason. Give her a reason!

Girls do not fall in love with douchebags because they’re douchebags. We’re not that stupid. Girls fall in love with them because they’re bold. Why do you think we always say we can’t find nice guys? Because they don’t seem to want us. I’m not saying you’re boring, it’s just that… Look at it this way, if you have a job where you make lots of money, have great hours, and are promoted like a fucking king but you have no friends there which means no one notices if you come in or not you’re going to want more right? So what if you walk into Dunkin Donuts and instantly become friends with everyone? You get offered a job and despite the shitty hours and minimum wage you love it.

It’s because that second job makes you feel worth it. Like what you’re doing actually matters. That it excites someone and they make you excited about it too.

It’s only after a girl falls for a douche that he shows her who he really is. But by that point it doesn’t matter. She’s fallen.

I wonder if writers move differently.
